To prevent a stuck mash/sparge:

Measure out about 100–200 g (1–2 cups) of rice hulls per 5 kg of grain.

Rinse the hulls briefly in water to remove dust.

Stir them into the dry crushed grain before adding hot water.

Mash as usual—the hulls won’t affect flavor, just keep things flowing.
If you're using a high amount of Wheat, Rye, Spelt, Barley, Quinoa or any other grain without husk, we highly recommend adding some Rice Hulls to your grain order.
Rice hulls act like little spacers in your mash tun to aid in liquid moving freely through. This aids in preventing stuck mashes and aiding in sparging efficiency.
usage rate 5% of grain bill for most recipes, or up to 20% if a lot of unhusked grain is used.
