Use the 118L Kegmenter as a Distillation Boiler

The large-capacity 118L Kegmenter can also be converted into an impressive distillation boiler, making it ideal for customers wanting to process larger washes in fewer runs.

Option 1 – Using a 3600W Heating Element

The Kegmenter can be fitted with a 3600W stainless steel heating element (sold separately). The element uses a 2" Tri-Clover connection and can be fitted directly to the compatible port in the base of the Kegmenter.

When using a 3600W element, you will require a 4" compatible still capable of safely operating with 3600W of heating power independently.

Option 2 – Using a 2200W Weldless Heating Element

If you would like to use an AlcoEngine Reflux Still or AlcoEngine Pot Still,  A Still spirits T500 copper reflux column or a Pure Distilling copper reflux column the Kegmenter can instead be fitted with a 2200W 10A weldless heating element.

Installation requires drilling a 32mm hole through the wall of the Kegmenter to mount the heating element.

A 10A Power Controller is also recommended, allowing you to adjust the amount of power being supplied to the heating element and provide greater control during your distillation run.

You will also require 

• 4" to 2" concentric reducer
• 2" Tri-Clover clamp

This setup allows reflux columns to be securely connected to the large Kegmenter boiler.

Ideal for Larger Distillation Runs

With its generous 118 litre capacity, the Kegmenter makes an excellent option for larger washes. Instead of splitting your wash across several smaller boiler runs, you can process substantially more in a single run — saving both time and effort.
