Bravo™ Hop Profile  Crop 2024

Bravo™ came to life in the early 2000's as an open pollination super alpha variety. Bravo™ typically sits around 14-17% Alpha Acid and because of this quickly became a preferred bittering hop for both professional and home brewers. It has a  well-respected reputation as a bittering hop, Bravo™ but isn't as one-dimensional as it might seem.  

  • When added late in the boil or as a dry hop, Bravo contributes:

    • Citrus (especially orange)

    • Floral

    • Earthy

    • Slight spice and herbal notes

Beer Styles That Use Bravo:

  • American Pale Ale

  • American IPA

  • Double IPA

  • Amber Ale

  • Stouts (for a smooth bitterness)

  • Porters



Aroma: Pleasant, aromatic.
Alpha Acid: 14 to 17%
Typical Usage: Bittering – it’s a clean bittering. Smooth.
